Aside from other sports, track requires endurance, and focus. Most importantly, track is a mental sport and it involves many training as well as fitness. As a runner, I have experienced painful injuries and emotions through track, because of bad training habits. To be healthy and successful in track, an individual has to train hard regularly, and also maintain his or her focus. I have been training a little, though to keep myself in shape. However, I have never had a true track training, or fitness. So I know for fact that my body is totally out of shape. It will probably take about six months of training before my body gets back into its regular track form. Therefore, the purpose of my research project was to gather data of me performing 200 meters within a month without any sort of training. This project will prove whether performing 200 meters would be simple or difficult with no basic track training. The only training that I will have is long distance runs and doing some stretches, which would keep my body from cramping up. There will be nine samples collected, which are the days in the month the project is being researched. The days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. Within those days, I will run six 200 meters in total. Since I have not have any hard training, my goal is to have the 200 meters range under thirty seconds. In between each 200 meter, I will have three minutes rest, and five minutes rest after performing the first half of the 200 meters. After the five minutes rest, then I will move on to the last half of the 200 meters. The project data will be an attribute data, because in result I want to determine how much training could really affect one’s performance in Track.
